Time for Spring Break

Even though I'm not doing anything for break, it'll still be nice to have a week off. So far this semester has been mostly stress-free, with the exception of attempting to find a job. Classes are all going well (should have strong A's in everything) so hopefully that will continue. I'm not sure if I want to go home to TN for break. First, I won't have my laptop (more on that later) and second, I don't like driving 500 miles each way to spend like 3 days total there.

So, for the laptop story. As with most Sager 8790's, my computer has, in technical-terms, crapped out. It works fine as a normal, web browsing text writing computer, but for gaming, it can't do anything because about 10 seconds into any kind of gaming, the artifacting gets so bad you can't even tell whats on the screen. So earlier today, I got in contact with Sager tech and told them my problems (artifacting, screen flickering and memory stick pro reader not working). They gave me a return-service number so as I'm writing this, I'm waiting to hear back from PCTorque, because they're supposed to be giving me a shipping label so I don't have to pay to ship it back to Sager in CA. Hopefully I'll be able to get it shipped out tomorrow and Sager gets it in the first half of the week. I believe that Sager tries to get computers out of the factory with 3 days so I shouldn't be without my computer for more than 2 weeks total, including all the shipping time. It'll be OK after next Thursday though because. . .

I should be getting a Sony PSP. Not only can it play games that look as good as PS2 games but it'll also serve as a nice MP3 player until I feel like paying $300+ for a real one from Apple or Sony. I'm very excited about getting a PSP. I haven't done anything in the world of handheld gaming since I was probably around 10. If nothing else, it should make boring nights at work a little easier to handle.

That's it for now. Once I get my computer back, it should be about time to start playing the new Doom 3 expansion game, which should be awesome. Hell, being able to play any game again will be great! Hopefully I won't have to send my computer in for repairs every 6 months to a year because that'll get old really fast and make me angry. I'll write more after spring break (maybe from Diana's computer, maybe from mine).
