And on we go

Almost spring break already. . .what the heck have I been doing that has made the past month and a half go by in no time at all? Yeah, I've been doing work in all of my classes but that usually makes time go slower, not faster. Anyway, final semester has been mostly fun up to this point. Learning real design techniques for websites is something that is great to know (not that I didn't know the stuff before, but now it has actual names, like grid-layouts and categorical grouping of links). Also, senior sem has been fun thus far. I like the fact we're doing things that will actually help us in the future, rather than just some dumb project that has no real value whatsoever and will never even be used outside of class (now I'm not naming any classes in particular in which this practice is currently being used in, but, it's a little difficult to do work when you know that it truly is only for a grade). Racquetball, though tiring on my old and feeble body (that can be read as slow and lazy), has been fun. With the exception of the fact that I'm pretty terrible at it, I enjoy the sport. Gold and badmitton are still sort of my style though. Why oh why couldn't there have been a badmitton class at Elon?

In non-school news, the job hunt continues. The problems thus far: having classes and work all week during the times that I would be able to call people back. That and having a piece of crap cell phone that should have been replaced about 6 months ago. But I'll keep looking online and maybe eventually have time to call places back that actually contact me (like American Express).

Also, I decided to buy a DVD burner. Oh what fun this new toy is. Backing up large amounts of data in less time than it used to take to burn a CD is great. Freeing up hard drive space on my nearly-full 160gb external hdd is also great.

Diana just got a new laptop. A Sager actually. Guess who suggested it to her. I should get a commission! Anyway, she got the 3790 model, which is awesome. Not only does it have the great Pentium M processor for insane battery life and good performance, it also has an ATI 9700 graphics card, just like mine. Once she gets a little more used to it, I think I may make her play some Doom 3. Its a great little computer (lol, I know that 7-8 pounds isn't little to everyone, but to someone like me who has a 10+ pound laptop, 7 pounds is tiny). And for the price of under $2000, can't beat it. Just wish it came with the glossy WSXGA+ screen like mine. . .

I guess that's really about it for now. Thinking back about all that I just wrote, this is kind of a random posting. Oh well, deal. At least you got an update out of me and know that I haven't dropped off the face of the world yet. Oh yeah, if you haven't yet, please check out my online portfolio and let me know what you think of it. And please, be totally honest in what I could do to make it better. It's already shaping up to be my favorite website I've ever created and anything I can do to make it better would be awesome.
